WHAT TO CONSIDER IN KID’S BEDROOM SPACES
One of the most difficult aspects of designing a kid’s space is determining what style will easily age with them and also creating something that will be fun for them as well. I think kids will remember they bedrooms and comfort of the space for ever and they will appreciate the love and effort that went into creating the space just for them.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
- I would start looking at the space first and see how can I incorporate unique personal items that are functional and compliment both creativity and organisation.
- Kids bedroom should have it’s on style and they don’t need to follow the same team as the rest of house. That space belongs to them and it should reflect the child’s personality.
- Pay attention to the size of the room and what peaces of furniture you can use. How much natural light is in the room, then you can decide if you want to add the colour or a feature wall. Would you use any artwork on the wall, can you add a desk and a chair, what type of lighting will you use. All these elements are very important to make the room feel cozy, functional and comfortable.
- Other elements like bookshelf, step stool, visual board, type of the bed, reading nook, toy space for smaller kids are very important elements to consider before you start designing and styling the space.
NEXT STEP
- Next step is to create a Mood Board so you can see if all the colours, textures and patterns work together. This is the most important elements of a design and you should not skip this step. The Mood Board shapes the design process, generates the final design and helps with simplifying and organising the project.
