What to consider when designing or renovating a Bathroom
Bathrooms can be expensive to remodel and impossible to ignore. But it doesn’t take much to improve these small spaces, no matter what you’re working with today. I have created a lot of beautiful examples that I think will serve as an inspiration for your own spaces, and equip you to create a bathrooms that are both beautiful and functional.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
- Good layout, storage and lighting top the list of practical elements to consider in a bathroom.
- When it comes to selection of materials that will define the aesthetic of your bathroom and depends of the colour of the tiles your choose it can make the bathroom look smaller or bigger. The size of the tiles is also very important. I typically suggest timeless options that are in keeping with the style and architecture of your home.
- Consider the style that you are going with. What kind of mirror or vanity will you choose are you going to incorporate any light fixtures and how will you install them on the wall or the ceiling. And if there’s room for a bath tub, by all means get a bath tub!
- Other elements like bath mat and towels, hooks, bath rails, shelving or storage, counter space, baskets or bins.
NEXT STEP
- Next step is to create a Mood Board so you can see if all the colours, textures and patterns work together. This is the most important element of a design and you should not skip this process. The Mood Board shapes the design process, generates the final design and helps with simplifying and organising the project. I have created three examples of a Mood Board below so you can see how it works.
